About Damion
My Journey
I often think back to the first time I wore a Leo pin. I was young, curious, and eager to make a difference, but what I quickly learned was that leadership isn’t about recognition, it’s about showing up, listening, and serving others. It’s about being part of something larger than yourself. Those early experiences quietly shaped my heart for service and planted a lifelong love for Lionism, for the friendships it fosters and for the chance to contribute to communities in ways far bigger than any one person.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed with many opportunities to serve. At the Lions Club of Montego Bay, I had the honor of serving as President for two terms, as Service Chairperson, Marketing Chairperson, and on the Leo Advisory Committee. At the Sub-District level, I’ve served twice as Zone Chairperson, as Chair of the Magazine Committee for the 37th Multiple District Conference, and now as Sub-District 60B Global Membership Team Coordinator, having first learned and grown as a GMT understudy. Each role has been a classroom, teaching me patience, teamwork, and the quiet power of listening. Every Lion I have worked with has reminded me that the work we do is bigger than titles, it’s about people, community, and service.

I have been humbled along the way. At the end of my term as Zone Chairperson for Zone 1A, I received a Melvin Jones Fellowship from our District Governor and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship from my club. These recognitions were never personal milestones, they were reminders of what we can accomplish when Lions work together, when hearts and hands join in service, and when dedication meets purpose.
Professionally, I’ve been fortunate to serve teams across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia as Senior Operations Manager at Cimpress (Vistaprint) Jamaica, bringing nearly twenty years of experience, including more than a decade in senior leadership. Academically, I am grateful for the preparation that has allowed me to serve more effectively. I hold an MBA in Management Studies from the University of East London, a BSc in General Management and Psychology with Second Upper Class Honours from the University of the West Indies, and a Counseling certificate completed with High Distinction at UWI Open Campus. I have also earned professional certifications in COPC Management, Scrum Master, and Scrum Product Owner. Every course, every certificate, every lesson has been a tool to help me better understand people, collaborate, and make thoughtful, informed decisions, all in service to others.

At the center of everything is my family. My wife, Shellon, has been my partner for over twenty years, grounding me, encouraging me, and patiently supporting the long hours that service often demands. Together, we are raising two wonderful children: Kellis, pursuing her LLB at the University of the West Indies, and Jaheem, completing high school in St. James. My family reminds me every day that leadership begins at home and that every opportunity to serve is made possible through their love, understanding, and support. Their belief in me allows me to walk this path with humility and purpose.
This campaign is not a journey I walk alone. I am blessed with a team of Lions whose guidance, passion, and encouragement carry me forward every day. Lion Izett McCalla has been a steady source of wisdom and belief in me, offering guidance that keeps me grounded and focused. Lion Vilma Campbell brings calm, clarity, and perspective, and has even shared travel alongside me, offering inspiration and steady companionship. Lion Janet Ferguson, my sponsor, has been a confidante and guiding voice for many years, advocating and advising with care and experience. Lion Sheldon Lynch brings innovation, creativity, and a love for technology that keeps our work forward-looking while reminding me that service and friendship are at the center of everything we do. And Lion Addo Cherrington, who I’ve had the honor of serving alongside throughout my Lions journey, has been a constant source of support and connection, bridging the Leo and Lions communities and reminding me of the importance of mentorship, guidance, and collaboration. I lean on each of them, and the support they provide is the foundation on which I stand today.

I am also grateful to the many Lions across Sub-District 60B who have reached out, whether publicly or quietly, with words of encouragement, thoughtful advice, and reassurance. To those who work behind the scenes, whose efforts make our service possible but often go unseen, please know that I carry your support with deep appreciation. It is because of all of you that I can humbly offer myself for the role of Second Vice District Governor, to serve, to listen, to learn, and to walk alongside you as we strengthen our district together.
